Carpe Denim’s Favourites: Wool-blend coat edition

We’re already deep into the month of October, and as the nights begin to draw in, there is one big fashion question that starts to nag on everyone’s minds: where is the best place to buy a winter coat?

A good quality coat is an essential component to nailing a fall outfit and can score some serious style points when executed well. Whilst we here at Carpe Denim are major advocates for shopping pre-loved, we are also mindful that this can be tricky when trying to find the perfect winter coat. After sifting through all that the high street has to offer, we’ve pulled together a list of our favourite wool blend coats this season, all coming in at under £200 pounds.

Toasty, timeless and tailored, this wooly number from Mango is effortlessly chic. Throw it over a turtleneck dress and you’re ready to embark on a wintery walk in a matter of minutes. Composition wise, this garment is made up of 71% wool- good quality for a high street brand.

We also love this chequered coat number from Mango . One it’s important to note that this garment is composed from just under 50 per cent wool, so arguably less quality for price than our previous recommendation.

Looking for a minamilist overcoat? Cos has you covered. This black number is a chic and longlasting addition to your wardrobe. We love the slightly tailored feel of this coat as well as its composition (made from 73% wool).

This double- breasted beige tone wool coat from Arket also impressed us due to its composition, with 75% of the garment made from wool. The short cut of this coat gives it a slightly more causal feel and one that can be styled up or down depending on the desired look you’re going for.
